Only get a puppy when you are ready

For thousands of years, dogs have been wonderful companions to humans. They are incredibly clever and active creatures, so you will get a lot from the connection, but they are also demanding. Let’s make sure you’re ready for the adjustments that a puppy will bring to your life. Here are some things to think about:

1. Can you come home frequently?

If you have a puppy,  you will need to let it out frequently  every

  • 3hrs for first 8 weeks
  • 4hrs for next 12 week
  • and 5hrs for next 16 weeks

2. Do you have any spare time?

It takes a long time to raise a dog. It’s excellent if you’re really committed to it, but if you want to stay out all night or cherish your free time, it may be difficult and worth waiting until you’re more established.

3. Are you able to afford it?

Dogs may be costly in terms of food, toys, vet visits, and boarding if you travel. The cost is likely to be approximately 20000 INR to 40000 INR for the first year and 10000 INR to 15000 INR for each subsequent year.

4. Do you think you'd be a good fit?

This may appear to be a ridiculous question, but there are a few things to consider if you have never had a dog before.

  • Are you allergic (as is your significant other or your children)?
  • Are you okay with cleaning up after messes (such as shedding and dog poop)?
  • Do you enjoy walking your dog (some dogs require more exercise than others)?
  • Are you patient and calm (dogs require time to learn and must be trained)?

Can you make a commitment?

Dogs live for a long period — 10 years or more. Are you ready for it?

If you think you have these minimum qualities then you are ready to get a puppy for you.
